Warndon Community Centre

Description

Worcester Community Trust runs 10 different projects across the City of Worcester and manages 6 community hubs including the Building Block in Warndon, working with those who need support improving health and wellbeing. Last year we provided opportunities and support to over 4500 people, enhancing skills, increasing confidence and bringing people together.

Our History

Worcester Community Trust was set up in 2010 to join together 3 charities and take on the management of Community Centres owned by Worcester City Council and to take on youth and community work on behalf of the City Council and Worcestershire County Council.

We have a successful track record of delivering a wide range of services to people in the areas of greatest deprivation in Worcester including

  • Youth services
  • Domestic abuse support
  • Family support
  • Play
  • Lunch clubs and services for older people
  • Support for the socially isolated
  • Community work and events
  • Construction skills

Community Centre appropriate to hire for youth activities, social activities, wellbeing.

The facilities at Warndon include:

  • Two Meeting Rooms
  • Two Kitchens
  • Three large halls – Hall 1, Hall 2 & Youth Hall – Two Stages (off Hall 1 and Youth hall)
  • Playing fields
  • Multi use games area
  • Outside gym
  • Ample Parking
  • Audio / Visual equipment available for hire

The Main Stage in Hall 1 is ideal for Conferences, Performances and Training Courses. It has an electric powered drop down screen making it ideal for presentations and even showing Films!

Hall 2 is a very popular room. It is a bright space used for training, conferences and meetings.

The Youth Hall is located in the newest part of the Hub which opened in 2011. It is a large open space that can be used for meetings, drama and exercise classes, youth activities and birthday parties (with room for a bouncy castle).

Our two Meeting Rooms are also located in the new part of the Hub,

The Warndon Hub is solar powered, harvests rainwater and has a green roof covering.

The Community Cafe

The Community Café with its own seating area is located in the newest part of the Warndon Hub. It can be hired with any of the other rooms or separately
